We are one of several Victorian houses on Lee Road, between the Town Hall and the Valley of Rocks. A few minutes’ walk in one direction will get you to the shops, restaurants and pubs in the centre of town, and also the Cliff Railway to Lynmouth. About ten minutes in the other direction will take you to the Valley of Rocks (pictured right) and the South West Coastal Path.
Our front rooms look out over Lynton and the surrounding Exmoor hills (Countisbury, Summerhouse and Southcliffe). The rooms at the back of the house look out over our garden towards Hollerday Hill (mostly trees). We have two private car parks: one at the front of the house (suitable for smaller cars), and one with larger spaces at the back of our garden.
HOW TO REACH US
BY CAR: From Minehead and Porlock on the A39, pass through Lynmouth, following the signs to Lynton. After the sharp (and steep) hairpin bend come up through the town, passing the Valley of Rocks Hotel and the Town Hall on your right. Southcliffe is a few hundred yards from the Town Hall, just past the Post Office, opposite the Toy Museum.
From Barnstaple or South Molton on the A399, take the A39 at Blackmoor Gate. Turn left at Barbrook Petrol Station, then fork left at the next junction into Lynton. Follow the signs to the town centre. Southcliffe is on your left, opposite the Toy Museum.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT: The nearest train station from Lynton is Barnstaple, and buses run to Lynton from Barnstaple. Please note that no buses run to and from Barnstaple on Sundays.
